Laser Hair Therapy - The Ultimate Hi-Tech Hair Loss Treatment

Carina was a scientist, so when she found clumps of hair in her fists in the shower every day for the past week or so she decided to go hi-tech about it. She knew, as in all medicine, that the hair loss treatment options nowadays are very sophisticated and included everything from follicle transplant surgery to FDA-approved oral medications and topical applications and even something called laser hair therapy, which sounded intriguing.

Only 37 years old, Carina thought about her mom, who also had thinning hair and wondered if she had some sort of infection or hair loss disease or if she just had simple female pattern hair loss, so she made an appointment to see a doctor. Her doctor explained to her that actually, female pattern hair loss is a misnomer, because typically hair loss due to aging in a female presents as diffuse thinning, all over the head, and in no general pattern. Although many women seek hair loss treatment when they notice their part getting wider and wider, as opposed to men, who notice a bald spot at the back top of their head or the receding at the hairline that drives them to hair loss treatment. Carina's doctor ruled out hormonal abnormalities, infections, fungus, stress and hair loss due to medication (because she wasn't on any!). He also ruled out any disease pattern like the autoimmune disease of Lupus, which can cause hair loss or the patchy hair loss of Alopecia Areata. The only thing left was female pattern baldness, which typically moves at a slower rate than male pattern baldness, too. Carina's doctor said it was a good idea to seek hair loss treatment sooner rather than later because once follicles die, they cannot be brought back to life. He explained that hair loss treatments only work on live follicles that can be coaxed back into an active growth stage and that there two good options available to her for her condition: Rogaine and laser hair therapy.

She was intrigued by the thought of laser hair therapy because within the scientific community, the laser has such a wide-range of application that she couldn't wait to see how it applied to her as a hair loss treatment. So she went to her first appointment with the hair loss treatment specialist, half with the curiosity of a scientist and half with the hopefulness of a hair loss sufferer.

The hair loss treatment specialist explained all about laser hair therapy and why it was a great choice for Carina. Laser hair therapy also called Low-Level Laser Light Treatment had been tested and proven to target hair loss early and to provide results as a hair loss treatment. When used on a regular basis, either with an at-home hand-held unit or the stronger in-studio units, laser hair treatment stimulates shrinking hair follicles to get stronger and slows down hair loss, in many cases reversing the degenerative cycle and stimulating a live follicle to produce more, thicker, stronger, healthier hair. Results are usually seen after about three months of regular laser hair treatments, both in-studio and at-home. Carina was told she could expect noticeable results in about six months because the follicles need time to produce new hairs, exit through the scalp, and grow to a noticeable and measurable length so it can be seen. The powerful-looking in-studio laser hair treatment unit with its many light diodes mesmerized Carina and even more so with the handheld laser comb she ordered to provide for laser hair therapy at home. She couldn't wait to get started and when she found out that laser hair therapy works even better when using topical DHT blockers (the aging-related hormone that attacks hair follicles and causes them to shrink) like shampoos and conditioners and even Rogaine to stimulate follicles even further, she couldn't wait to get started on her scientific and (real) observations in hair loss treatment!
