Minoxidil/ Rogaine® - 2% to 15%     How do we make Minoxidil better?

      
Works by increasing blood flow and partially enlarging miniaturized follicles. This prolongs the growth phase of the hair cycle allowing the hair to become longer and thicker. With more follicles in the growth stage, it is possible to see improved coverage of the scalp. The follicles still continue to cycle and several cycles may be necessary before maximum potential hair growth can be achieved. Because our patients are all different, we provide all strengths of Minoxidil for 2% -15%. We also have a large number of additives both natural and pharmaceutical that we match with each clients needs.

15% Minoxidil Cream and 10% with Carrier Solution

This formulation Minoxidil 15%,available by prescription. Minoxidil exhibits a linear dose-response relationship. The thinking is, increasing the concentration of Minoxidil will improve the response (hair growth) in quantity and decrease the time to results. Minoxidil is only soluble in standard liquid base at a concentration of 5%. In order to achieve the 15% concentration, a cream base must be used and Minoxidil particles micronized. This results in a rapidly absorbing double strength Minoxidil application. The cream may be cosmetically challenging to apply in areas where a significant amount of hair is present, thus it is recommended as a once a day (evening) spot treatment for areas that have been slow to respond to other treatment approaches. The Minoxidil cream may be applied twice daily if application proves not too difficult. Also a 10% strength with a special carrier solution is also available.

Progesterone -Progesterone has been shown to inhibit testosterone conversion to DHT by competing for the5 alpha reductase enzyme. Progesterone lowers the amount of DHT made from testosterone and increases the amount of dihydroprogesterone (DHP), which competes with DHT at the androgen binding sites of hair follicles.

Their are four major ways that HLCC Scalp Therapy Dexpanthenol  helps you keep your hair.

  1. B vitamins - with strong concentration of B vitamins particularly B 5. Dexpanthenol gives your hair the B 5 it needs. B 5 is important for the strength of your hair.

  2. Dissolve Sebum -Dexpanthenol dissolves sebum, flaks (dandruff). Excess sebum can cause hair to die or break prematurely. In many cases clients who have been harsh dandruff shampoos that harm their while trying to get rid of dandruff, can now completely stop using dandruff shampoo.

  3. Dexpanthenol - has been shown to increase the permeability of the stratum correum outer layer, thus facilitating in exchange of gases and liquids across the outer barrier of the scalp. 

  4. Makes Minoxidil work better. - Through cleaning of the scalp of sebum, and increasing the permeability, Dexpanthenol paves the way for better permeability of Minoxidil. It just makes sense, if sebum is blocking the Minoxidil from getting into the hair follicle to do its work, it can't work.

The scalp contains many sebaceous and sudoriferous (sweat) glands. There are so many, that the scalp is said to be one of the most unclean parts of the body. Characteristics for Better Regrowth 

      1.      Large number of partially miniaturized follicles that are still              producing hair 1cm or greater.  Areas of vellus-like hair only are less
likely to respond.

      2.      Younger patients

      3.      Shorter duration of hair loss

      4.      Less initial hair loss 

Real Expectations  

1.      Hair grows ¼ to ½ inch per month

2.      Follicle resting phase may last 2 to 6 months

3.      There is less shedding after first 90 days due to prolonged growth  phase of hair increasing the number of follicles in growth phase

4.      By 4 to 6 months some results are usually evident.

5.      Soft, downy, barely visible hair will be the new growth and some may change into hair of the same color and thickness as your other hair

6.      These are treatments and not cures and need to be used continually over the long term to combat genetic processes. Non compliance or discontinuation can cause follicles artificially kept in growth phase to enter resting phase. This new growth is typically shed in 2 months upon discontinuation.
