Laser Hair Therapy - An Effective Hair Loss Treatment for Women

What do you do when you look in the mirror and don't like what you see? It happens all the time to women in their 50's just because of what happens to our bodies, our skin and our hair as we age. But when it happened to Helen, a 52-year-old office manager from Marin County, California, she felt like she had been cheated. After all, she worked-out hard at the gym five times a week or more; she watched her fat and sugar intake and ate an organic diet whenever possible. She didn't smoke or drink more than a glass of wine at a time. And she never found the need to take any medication except a couple of Advil every now and then for a headache. So when she looked in the mirror and it occurred to her that her scalp around her part line was showing through her hair more than usual, she felt cheated. Then she noticed that there was more hair than usual in her brush and in the shower drain. She needed some kind of hair loss treatment and she needed one fast, before anyone else could notice.

Thumbing through the phone book she was able to find several hair loss treatment centers within driving distance and so she made appointment s for all. Some were specialists in laser hair treatment and she wondered what that could possibly be. Was a laser comb something out of a Star Trek movie? She made a mental note of asking what a laser comb was and what laser hair therapy was and then decided she had better make a written list of questions about hair loss treatment in general because the list was getting long!

From what she could gather on the Internet, laser hair therapy was a proven hair loss treatment to target hair thinning and worked especially well for women with thinning hair from simple female pattern baldness due to aging and from hair loss due to menopause. Helen had gone to the doctor to check that she didn't have any hair loss diseases or hormonal imbalances or skin or scalp diseases so she was confident she just had simple thinning and it was most visible at her part line. She was particularly self-conscious about it because she took special care of her hair, used salon products and was meticulous about keeping her salon appointments for cutting and coloring.

After three hair loss treatment experts examined her situation she got similar treatment plans from all that included laser hair therapy. That's how she knew that laser hair therapy would be perfect for her. You know, like when four out of five dentists agree? The laser hair therapy unit at the hair loss treatment clinic looked like a large hair dryer but it had laser light diodes that emitted a low-light laser pulse that the hair loss treatment specialist explained would stimulate blood flow to her follicles and get them active again. The best thing about Helen's situation is that she looked for help before it was too late. She didn't know that once hair follicles die they don't come back to life. But if follicles are just beginning to shrink they can be stimulated by laser hair therapy. Her hair loss treatment specialist even sent her home with a hand-held laser comb for at-home use in between laser hair therapy at the clinic. So laser hair therapy in the clinic appealed to Helen and now she would be adding those appointments to her hair care regimen. Helen followed her hair loss treatment plan exactly, even using her new at-home laser comb every night for 20 minutes and suddenly after about a month and half of laser hair therapy, Helen started noticing that she liked what she saw in the mirror!
