Hair Loss DNA Test for Men and Women
The DNA Genetic Hair Test is a test for screening pattern hair loss (Androgenetic Alopecia).
The objective of the DNA Genetic Hair Test is to identify Androgenetic Alopecia prior to the onset of symptoms, allowing diagnosis in an earlier or preclinical stage, so that treatment can be initiated at a time when intervention has a greater likelihood of success.
Studies have shown a high prevalence of Androgenetic Alopecia (hair loss) with positive tests and based on advancing age, approximately 65% men and 50% of women will be affected by the age of 60.
- 97.7 % of women with strong result will have serious and significant hair loss
- Men who test positive are 7 times more likely to have hair loss and have approximately a 70% chance of going bald.
Why should I take The DNA Hair Test?
- The DNA Hair Test Genetic Test predicts your risk for hair loss or thinning
- By the time hair loss or thinning is noticeable - almost 50% of your hair could be gone
- The DNA Hair Test will help predict your hair loss BEFORE you can see any visible hair loss
What will The DNA Hair Test tell me?
- The DNA Hair Genetic Test for Female Pattern Hair Loss provides women with a score, called the CAG repeat score
- A smaller CAG test score is associated with a higher risk for significant hair loss (Ludwig grade II or III hair loss see below)
- A larger CAG test score is associated with a lower risk for hair loss
- Scientists discovered that only 2.3% of women with a CAG test score below 15 did NOT develop Female Pattern Hair Loss
- The DNA Hair Genetic Test for Male Pattern Hair Loss - Men who test positive for the genetic variant are at 60% risk of going bald before 40.
- The test also identifies whether a man has a less-common variant that means an 85% chance of not going bald by that age.
